Right now, enhanced premium tax credits help lower the cost of health insurance for millions of people enrolled in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) by giving them bigger discounts on their monthly premiums.


But these extra savings are set to end in 2025 unless Congress extends them.

If they expire, families who rely on them could see their annual premiums more than double, going up by 114%, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.
