Maji Rising is reimagining healthcare access with a vision of creating a culturally rooted community where housing, healthcare, culture, and belonging operate as one.
At our Pop Up! events, community members have access to free primary care, dental exams, housing support, health and wellness education, referral pathways, home-style meals, and live music, along with many other holistic services and activities for all ages.
Together, these offerings work toward eliminating the barriers that too often keep our community members from living healthy, stable lives.
The events focus on providing increased access and awareness of healthcare services and providers, signaling to the community that their health and well-being are a shared priority.

Our first Pop Up! A Healthcare Block Party was a two-day celebration and much more than a health fair—it was a community-wide family reunion where trust was built, disparities were addressed, and holistic health was celebrated.
Attendees had access to dental exams, primary care visits, CPR Training, pharmacy outreach, vision/hearing/speech/cognitive screening, gut health education, financial/housing/voter resources, suture and phlebotomy clinic, college admissions with Spokane Colleges and EWU, music, STEM Activities, vaccines on Saturday from 11-3, and more.
All in a joyful, culturally rich environment.

“Our vision is to make healthcare feel less like a transaction and more like a celebration of community, culture, and connection.[PopUp! Events are] not just a gathering of people; it’s a safe space, it’s a celebration, it’s where we know we belong.
We’re not doing this where we’re sitting behind a table. We are in front of our table and we are interacting. We’re dancing and we’re eating. We’re breaking down the fear of white coats with joy and cultural authenticity.”
